Packages, Prices, Our Style
I regularly have a think about pricing and how to make it simple and straight forward - many photographers are bookable for a full day of coverage and nothing less, however, in my experience I have found that not all couples want a photographer with them all day and not all couples can afford this. Therefore I am continuing to offer a few different options to suit different budgets and requirements.
As two experienced photographers James and I photograph weddings in a very natural style, capturing so many details and memories which you may miss whilst in the moment of the days' events. Our style is to photograph your wedding from within, as though we were guests rather than just unknown observers. We work together to capture the emotions, the fun, the quirks, the atmosphere and the little, all important details of your wedding day to provide you with a collection of evocative images which will bring back the memories of your wedding day story for a long time to come.
An Engagement Shoot
Informal and relaxed, an engagement shoot is an introduction to being professionally photographed which will give you a lovely set of photographs of the two of you whilst you are engaged. This will also give you a chance to get to know your photographer and how it will feel to be photographed on your big day. This is particularly helpful if you are camera-shy and feeling daunted by the prospect of being photographed on your wedding day!
The engagement shoot can take place at a location of your choice - perhaps you have a favourit local place of interest like a forest walk, beach or National Trust property where you both like to spend time together.
The photos taken at an engagement shoot will be put onto disc for you to keep along with your choice of two of the photos presented to you as mounted 10 x 8 prints.
Your Wedding Day Photography
Traditional
This service covers the essential and most formal part of your day. We will arrive in plenty of time before your ceremony starts to capture the details of the venue setting, your guests arriving and the nervous anticipation of the grooms party. We will position ourselves to discreetly record the important moments of your ceremony including the groom and guests eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bridal party, the bride entering the ceremony, the exchange of rings, the kiss, signing the register, proud family and friends watching proceedings. After your ceremony we will photograph your requested 'formal' group photos with a fun and friendly approach rather than in an obtrusive bossy style which you wouldn't want on your happy day! We will also capture some more informal moments of guests enjoying their welcome drinks and we will take you for a little stroll around the grounds of your venue for a relaxed private shoot of just the two of you.
Contemporary: Preparations
This service covers everything in the 'Traditional' service plus the all-important preparations for the ceremony. I will capture your bridal party preparing for the big day; from the makeup and hair being done, to the beautiful details such as dresses, shoes and bouquets. This is a fun and exciting time often providing some of the most treasured moments shared between the bride and her closest family and friends. Capturing photographs of the preparations will also later reveal to the groom the events from a part of the day which he would not otherwise get to see - a peek at what went on behind the scenes before the beautiful bride arrived to her ceremony! On request and depending on location we can also record the grooms party preparations.
Contemporary: Evening
This service covers everything in the 'Traditional' service plus the events after your wedding meal. James and I will position ourselves to subtly capture candid moments of emotion, laughter, perhaps even embarrassment, during the speeches of the father of the bride, the groom and the best man! We will also be on hand to record another tradition you may choose to carry out - the official cutting of the wedding cake with everyone gathered around you. Perhaps you have more guests arriving to your evening party who won't have been photographed by us during the day - we will capture a variety of photos of your family and friends socialising, drinking and dancing to the band or DJ, providing lots of fun memories of the evening events. We will also be happy to oblige any requests for portraits of couples or groups of friends and family. Once your evening party is underway you may decide to perform a 'first dance' to a favourite song. During this we will photograph those close moments of emotion and fun shared between the two of you, whether you decide to perform a full choreographed routine or to just have a romantic slow shuffle across the floor!
The Full Story
This is our recommended service, providing natural, reportage-based photographic coverage of the full story of your wedding day - a complete record starting with bridal preparations and continuing right through to capturing your evening guests and party entertainment. We will photograph all the little details which you have chosen for your big day such as the flowers, decorations, table centrepieces, favours. Plus your own personal accessories; your jewellery, hair embellishments, anything old, new, borrowed or blue! We have often been told by wedding couples that when they look through their full set of photographs for the first time some of their photos are a surprise to them as we have caught moments they weren't even aware of during the events of the day!
Your Wedding Photographs
After your wedding day I individually process all of the photographs we have captured using the latest software to make subtle enhancements ensuring that each photo looks its best for you. When finished, your photographs will be uploaded to a password protected folder on the Hannah James Photography Client Albums page and you will be emailed the password to pass on to family and friends.
I also provide a preview of around 30 photographs which will be available to view within one week from your wedding date so you do not have to wait long to get a peek at some of your photos!
Optional Extras
Wedding Photo Discs
We can provide you with your images on disc for you to print and share the photos from your big day. We put no limitations put on our wedding discs with regards to reprinting and sharing.
Our wedding photo discs contain two sets of your photographs;
- 'large' high resolution images for quality printing
- 'small' low resolution images for easy sharing via email, Facebook , etc.
Presentation Albums
We offer a range of beautiful, professional high quality wedding albums in a variety of different styles and colours, all made in Britain, some are even hand crafted here in Somerset! For details of our album selection, including Parent Albums, please give us a call or send us an email.
Hand Crafted Wooden Frames
Another option for showcasing your favourite photographs is to put them into frames - we can provide a variety of handmade wooden frames, all locally crafted in Somerset using English wood from sustainable sources. These are made to order and designed through consultation but as an example a 17" x 20" spalted beech frame holding a mounted 12" x 10" photograph is priced at £125.
